Both the relative merit of a grant request and availability of Foundation funds are considered during the grant approval process. The Foundation is limited in the number of grants that can be approved each year. Therefore, denial of funding by the Foundation does not reflect on the merits of the applicant’s program. The Foundation meets monthly January through June and September through November. At each meeting its Grant Committee submits grant requests for review by the Foundation's Board of Directors. If additional information is desired, the grant applicant may be invited to appear before the Board at a future meeting. Grants are voted upon at the March, June, September and November meetings. Once a request has been voted upon, the applicants are notified by mail of the status of their request.

Virginia Schooner - $25,000
Youth Services Corp. - $20,000
